Reclaiming your identity - finding missing pieces worksheet for narcissistic abuse recovery

One of the most immediate challenges people face as they emerge from a difficult relationship is finding themselves again.

It’s easy to lose yourself when you’re in a relationship with someone who is confusing, difficult to please, quick to anger, who causes you to doubt yourself and your worth.

This worksheet gives you a quick and easy method for identifying and finding missing pieces so you can start rebuilding yourself straight away.

Reclaiming your identity - get their voice out of your head worksheet for narcissistic abuse recovery

A major side effect of a difficult relationship, which is rarely talked about, is having their voice inside your head long after the relationship ends.

This voice can obviously affect your emotions and self-perception.

This worksheet will help you understand what's happening and will give you quick, easy ways to quieten their voice so you can hear your own thoughts more clearly.

Rediscover your values.png

Rediscovering your core values is an important step in reclaiming your identity after experiencing a narcissistic relationship, or any kind of difficult relationship or major life transition.

The wonderful thing about gaining clarity in this area is your values can help guide you to make choices which lead you towards authenticity.

What's the benefit of authenticity? It allows your inner self and outer expression to be in harmony - you can be your true self.

Making friends with anger

Anger is often thought to be dangerous, destructive and something to be avoided.

We grow up having many unspoken beliefs about anger, preventing us from acknowledging and using this powerful emotion to assist us and protect us.

This worksheet will help you recognise your beliefs, understand what anger is all about and start to explore the numerous types of anger we may experience within ourselves and from others.

The next worksheets in this series are:

  • Making friends with anger (Part 2)

  • Making friends with anger (Part 3)

  • Taming triggers
