Why Wonder?
Wonder is a feeling of curiosity, amazement or doubt, often triggered by something unexpected or inexplicable.
It invites us to explore, question, and understand the world around us, and the world inside us. Wonder opens the door to new possibilities and perspectives, encouraging a sense of awe and a desire to learn and grow.
Wonder Counselling serves as a catalyst for self-discovery and personal transformation, guiding you towards insight and meaningful change.
Hi, I'm Shannon - Registered Counsellor!
Have you ever found yourself staring at your own reflection, wondering if the person looking back is still you?
Are you catching yourself replying to conversations in your mind, wondering if you're really at fault like they said you were? Or trying to find the 'right' thing to say that will finally bring peace and calm back to your relationship?

Have you wondered if you're the problem, because not matter what you do, it never seems to be enough?

Does the inside of your mind feel like a disaster zone? You want to get the clean up process underway but it's overwhelming and you have no idea where to start...

If any of this is familiar, you're certainly not alone. And there is a way forward!
My specialty is helping people navigate and recover from narcissistic abuse. I offer individual counselling for a range of issues affecting your relationships so you can gain clarity, calm and confidence.

Reasons to book a counselling session
1 / Relationship distress
If you're in a narcissistic, high conflict or difficult (toxic) relationship - you know something isn't right because relationship issues are on your mind a lot! You're probably experiencing shame and confusion (that's what these relationships cause) and you've been putting counselling off for too long already.
2 / Navigating separation
The end of the relationship is still raw and there's so much to manage (perhaps co-parenting is suddenly on the cards). You don't have time to slow down, you're seeking support to so you can keep moving forward without this having a major impact on all the other areas of your life.
3 / Dating and new relationships
You're getting back into dating and you want to know how to avoid having the same relationship or making the same mistakes as last time. Or you're in a new relationship and want to make sure you're giving it the best chance of success.
4 / Relational trauma
Relationships have been difficult for you...always. Early relationships were complicated and those complications are still there, lurking in the background. Trust, abandonment, safety - these are all big issues. You're tired of them clinging onto you and you want to make some changes.
5 / It's a mixed bag
You might be wanting to learn new skills because you recognise you've been neglecting your relationship. You might have low self-esteem and you're struggling to see why anyone would want to be with you? Perhaps you've been abusive in your previous relationships? Whatever it is, our work together will help you make meaningful progress towards having stronger, healthier connections with yourself and others.
What my clients say...
"It's a huge relief to finally talk to someone who gets it!"
"I've been to a number of psychologists and counsellors, but they can't see the full picture. Thank you for helping me feel sane again."
"It's so easy to talk to you, it's like talking to a girlfriend. And the insights have been awesome."
"I like how you have a balanced approach. I don't want to think badly of my boyfriend, I just want to understand why he's acting like this."

Why choose counselling?
01
The counselling lens
Counsellors view individuals as inherently capable and wise. Rather than passing judgment or dictating solutions, our role is to assist you in clearing distractions and connecting with your own inner wisdom. Think of it like decluttering the mental landscape, allowing you to focus on what truly matters to you.
02
A personal approach
Because counsellors don't have the responsibility of clinical diagnosis or assessment, we're free to be truly present with you. This contributes to a more relaxed atmosphere of acceptance, creating a comforting space for you to open up and express your emotions without fear of labels.
03
Confidentiality
Most counselling settings allow clients to opt-out of having session notes recorded in their client file, giving you the option to maintain a higher level of privacy if this is important or necessary for you.
